Brad and Lisa Fisher brought Ben with them this weekend to experience something new... a bit of sailing on Lake Erie. The group arrived late Friday and we spent the night at Herl's Harbor. Since it was Ben's first time on a boat, it would be some time for him to become acustomed to the movements of the boat.
On Saturday morning, the wind was light so we motored our way up to Put In Bay. The plan was to give Ben the full Lake experience so we made a trip up to the top of Perry's Monument. What a view on a clear day. We could see the coastline of Michigan and the Canadian mainland! We left after a brief visit however because the wind was picking up... meaning that we could sail to Kelley's Island for our overnight anchorage and afternoon swim.
In general the wind was favorable but the swells from the northeast didn't agree with Ben. The further we sailed, the greener Ben looked. He was even more quiet than usual.
